TP-Link WR740N is cheap SOHO router and best for small coverage area. DD-WRT is Linux based router firmware which convert a normal WiFi Router into super Advanced WiFi Router. A simple normal WiFi router has limited functionality in stock firmware.

Download dd-wrt firmware and flashed to router without any issues. I love all the features that are added with dd-wrt. Wireless range is good. This is in a central location in my house and all areas have a great signal. I've had several things connected to router at once and performance has been great.
